Gloria "Jean" Baynes Adkins

Gloria “Jean” Baynes Adkins, age 80 of Danville, Virginia passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Adkins was born July 12, 1944 in Danville, Virginia to the late Ollie Armstrong. She was married to James Edward Adkins, who survives at the residence.

She was of the Baptist faith. She will always be remembered as a kindhearted and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is also survived by her son, Jim Adkins; three grandchildren, Thomas Hail Moore, Lexus Khan, and Jamir Khan; one great-grandson, Thomas Hail Moore, Jr.; and a very special niece, Terry Dalton.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Adkins was also predeceased by her daughter, Sheila Farmer; her sister, Margaret Ann Oakes; and her brother, Henry Baynes.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
