Callie Marlowe Wells

Callie Marlowe Wells, age 104 of Callands, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at her residence. Mrs. Wells was born June 15, 1920 in Pittsylvania County to the late Mary Alice Giles Marlow and the late William David Marlow. She was married to the late Johnnie James Wells, whom predeceased her in 2003.

She was a faithful member of County Line Christian Church. She will always be remembered as a kindhearted and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheree W. Amos (Allen); one son, David M. Wells; four grandchildren, Darlene Turner (Mike), Lori Doss (Andy), Lydia Carter (Andrew), and Andrew Amos (Kayla); five great grandchildren, Nicole Walker (Josh), Michelle Sain (Chris), Callie Doss, Nolen Doss, and Abel Amos; and five great great-grandchildren, Chris Sain, Chance Sain, Cadence Sain, Camryn Sain, and Liam Walker.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was also predeceased by five sisters, Eva Atkins, Rebecca Gauldin, Elsie Gauldin, Alice Marlowe, and Nannie Hankins; and five brothers, Harvey Marlowe, Henry Marlowe, Gilbert Marlow, HL Marlowe, and Arthur Marlowe.

A memorial service honoring Mrs. Wells life will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at County Line Christian Church with Minister Dean Ashby and Minister Tim Maness officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
