Larry Wayne Parker

LARRY WAYNE PARKER, 76, of Bland, VA, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020, at his home. He was born September 3, 1943 at Roanoke, VA, the son of the late James Carl Parker & Ollie Mae Parks Parker Demidovich.

Larry loved playing guitar and singing in church. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, hunting and being outdoors. He enjoyed shooting guns, especially with Cory, and enjoyed taking his grandson, Dallas, hunting.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard F. Parker, and his sister, Betty Jo Parker Mitchell.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 14 years, Roberta Morehead Parker; his children, Robbie Wayne & Denise Parker, James Patrick Parker, OShay Michelle Parker, Cory Allan Parker, Nehemiah Joseph Hickman and Jeremiah Daniel & Samantha Hickman; his grandchildren, Qwenn Parker, Cody Parker, Misty Amber Parker, Avery Michelle Greenwood and Dallas Joseph Hickman; his brothers & sisters-in-law, Tommy Ray & Dianne Parker and Terry Lee & Brenda Parker, who were very special to him; very special brother-in-law and “partner in crime”, Bobby Morehead; several nieces & nephews, too many to list.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Tommy Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Robinette Cemetery, Bland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Larry’s honor to A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134, to help with funeral expenses.
