Gwendolyn Sue Epperson Collins, 75, of Elliston, Virginia, graduated to her heavenly home on March 24, 2025, just two days shy of her 76th birthday. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her husband of 57 years, John Collins, and her devoted children. Born on March 26, 1949, Gwendolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose life was a testament to faith, family, and kindness. For 44 years, she dedicated her life to the ministry, sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. Her unwavering faith and compassionate spirit touched countless lives and left an everlasting impact on her community. Gwendolyn is survived by her beloved husband, John Collins; her children, Sam (Cindy), Kristy (John), Nikki (Michael), and Joseph (Tammy); her eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a beautiful sister, Jackie Clark. She is also lovingly remembered by extended family members and dear friends who were inspired by her warmth, faith, and kindness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Seneca Baptist Church in Elliston, Virginia. The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Seneca Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Pulaski, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Seneca Baptist Missions Trip Fund, continuing Gwendolyn’s legacy of faith and love. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior, where her radiant smile and compassionate heart will continue to shine.
