Laeta Frye Meador

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Laeta Frye Meador went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was ninety-seven years young and lived her life to the fullest.

Laeta was retired from C&P Telephone (Verizon) after thirty-five years of service. She then went to work at Lewis Gale Hospital as a phone operator for another twenty-seven years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ernest Robert Meador; a son, Markus Wendall Meador; four sisters, Carly, Delphia, Roveta, and Ellen; three brothers, Buddy, Wesley, and Tony Frye.

She is survived by her son, Barry L. Meador (Patsy); grandchildren, Theresa Ray (Ben), Travis Meador (Misty), Heather Welch, Aisha Buster, and Rachel Meador (Brandon Mayo); thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Barbara Hoskins.

The family will receive guests at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, with Rev. Herb Shaffer officiating. Private interment for family only will take place immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 3706 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.
