Sammie Kay Moore Flannagan

Sammie Kay Moore Flannagan, 83, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Gibson House Hospice Home in Wentworth, NC. She was born on November 8, 1941, in Grayson County, VA to the late Ruby Aline Jackson Moore and Samuel Kahle Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean Moore Mitchell.

Sammie dedicated her life to her family, embodying the heart and soul of their home. She and her husband cherished a fulfilling journey together, exploring all fifty states, creating a tapestry of shared memories. Raised in Abingdon, Virginia, Sammie enjoyed a childhood rich in love and community. Her legacy is one of devotion, adventure, and unwavering love.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Hobert Ray Flannagan of Martinsville, VA; daughters and son-in-law, Helen Kay Flannagan, Rebecca Aline Flannagan both of Martinsville, VA, and Patricia Lynn Flannagan Wood (Keith Ray Wood) of Browns Summit, NC.

A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Burial Park on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Deisher officiating.
