Susan Ann Davis Haynes
Susan Ann Davis Haynes, beloved resident of Roanoke, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2025. She was a cherished great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, and friend to many. Susan's warmth, love, and laughter touched countless lives and left an enduring mark on all who knew her.
Susan's life was defined by her deep connections with others. Her friendships and adventures encompassed all aspects of life; from heartfelt phone calls and lighthearted chats to helping during difficult times, Susan was always there with compassion. Whether it was listening to her son tell silly jokes or lending a compassionate ear to others, Susan was a gift and a breath of fresh air. Her presence brought comfort, and her legacy of love and resilience will echo for generations.
A talented hairstylist for many years, Susan took pride in her work and formed close bonds with those she served. She loved her family unconditionally and supported them through every season of life.
Susan is survived by her sons, Raymond E. Thompson (wife Christie) and Justin L. Haynes (wife Jill); her sister, Linda Davis McKinney (husband Roger); and her grandchildren, Brandi Wegisen-Hubbard (husband Rusty), Christian Wegisen (partner Nirel), and Hunter Meador.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman E. Davis; her mother, Bernice E. Dirksen Patrick; her daughter, April Lynn Thompson Meador; and her brother, Kenneth Ray Davis.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date at Faith Life Baptist Church in Montvale, VA.
