Mary Virginia Saunders Rader

Mary Virginia Saunders Rader, 78, of Goodview, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Randolph and Naomi Virginia Saunders; her husband, James Allen Rader Sr.; daughter, Cindy Ann Rader; and her son-in-law, Tommy Wood Jr.

Mary was an avid animal lover. She had a cat and dog which she loved but her love also extended to other pets in the family. Additionally, Mary would love to sit and watch all the wildlife out of her patio windows, squirrels, birds, butterflies, she loved them all.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sherry Wood; son, James Rader Jr.; grandchildren, Allen Rader and Angel Long (Mike); brother, John Henry Saunders (Debbie); sisters, Bessie Marie Rader (Sam) and Sally Faye Ridgeway (Bruce); a special sister-in-law, Elizabeth Spradlin (James); and numerous other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12 until 2 PM at Morgan’s Baptist Church, 2086 Morgan’s Church Road, Bedford. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the church with interment at the church cemetery.
