Carolyn Byrd Mangum

Carolyn Byrd Mangum, age 81, entered into rest on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Mangum was born March 3, 1944, in Danville, Virginia to the late Rosie Mae Mahaley Byrd and the late William Howard Byrd. She was married to the late Shelman Lee Quesenberry, and then married Clyde Franklin Mangum, Sr., who predeceased her in 2022.

Mrs. Mangum loved to ride on the motorcycle with her late husband, Clyde, and loved to go fishing in her spare time. She also loved to spend time out by the pool relaxing and suntanning.

She is survived by stepdaughter, Sheri Flack; two stepsons, Clyde F. Mangum, Jr. (Tammy) and James Mangum; sister, Jeanette Byrd Hughes; grandsons, Ron Quesenberry and Clayton Quesenberry; granddaughter, Amy Griffith; grandson-in-law, Shaun Griffith; daughter-in-law, Dana Quesenberry; great-grandkids; Makayla, Dakota, Iris, Nevaeh, Ellie, Camden, and Trevor.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved sons, Shelman Lee Quesenberry, Jr. and Ronald Quesenberry; brother, James Howard Byrd; sister-in-law, Patricia Faye Byrd; and brother-in-law, George Hughes.

A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 12:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services - West End Chapel with Pastor Delton Agnor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Internment wil follow at Danville Memorial Gardens

At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Ron Quesenberry – 107 Willow Court, Ringgold, VA 24586.
