William Clifford Allen

William Clifford “Bill” Allen, 67, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on January 22, 1958, in Flint, MI, he was the son of Aaron Clifford Allen of Mt. Morris, MI, and the late Willie Kent Allen.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a simple man who found joy in the little things and cherished his time spent outdoors. Bill had a deep love for his farm and enjoyed helping his daughter with hers. A true sports fan, he was especially passionate about the Detroit Lions and Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide). Bill also enjoyed spending time on the golf course.

However, above all, Bill’s greatest joy was his family. He always made them his number one priority, and his love for them was immeasurable.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Frances Allen; his daughter, Bethany Lee; his son, James Daniel “J.D.” Carter; five grandchildren, Ella Carter, Mia Carter, Luna Carter, Harper Grace Lee, and Ayla Joelle Lee; his sister, Patricia Harcz (David); his brothers, Michael Allen (Karen) and Jerry Allen; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
