Edith I. Pallien

Edith I. Pallien, age 102 died Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Runk & Pratt Assisted Living in Hardy. She was born October 7, 1922 in Germany, the daughter of Franz and Amanda Ihlenfeld. She was preceded in death by her husband Kurt; sister, Marga; and half-brother, Guenther.

Edith worked for the British Military Government in Berlin after the end of WW2. Along with her husband, she immigrated to USA in 1951. They made their home in the Greater New York Area. She worked in various secretarial and administrative jobs.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, swimming, and the outdoors.

Edith is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Deborah; grandchildren, Frank and Victoria; niece, Birgit and her husband Dieter; as well as other relatives in Germany.

Edith’s ashes along with those of her husband will be buried in the Atlantic Ocean, symbolizing their old home and new home.
