Charles McManaway

Charles A. McManaway of Franklin County passed away on September 3, 2025 at 93 years of age. Preceded in death by his parents, Doella Simmons McManaway and Rufus Clayton McManaway.Survived by wife of 44 years, Brenda McManaway. His children Chuck (Penny) McManaway, Brad McManaway, Fran Newbury, Stepson Gary (Carla) Helton. Grandchildren Carson McManaway, Bailey McManaway, Christian (Ha) Newbury and Katie Newbury, Joleigh Arrington (Jackson) and Gavin Helton, Niece Olivia McManaway.Charles served in  the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Attended Virginia Tech and upon Graduation was hired by The Lane Company. Leading the Rocky Mount Plant for 37 years. Upon retirement he enjoyed creating his Country Paradise in Boones Mill Virginia.The family wishes to thank Caregivers, Tammy and Kristen, Good Samaritan Hospice nurses, Amber and Sandy.Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Wingfield officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Boones Mill.
