Frances Dean Kleppinger
Frances Dean Kleppinger, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Born on August 22, 1947, in Amherst VA, Fran was the daughter of the late Charlie E. Dean and Lois B. Dean. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Dean and Robert Dean.
Fran was a dedicated and hard-working individual, retiring after 49 years of service as an HR Manager at Wells Fargo. A deeply religious woman who loved the Lord, Fran was a member of James River Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA where her faith played a central role in her life. She found joy in her church community and always held a special place for her faith.
She also was a member of the Historic Triangle Rotary Club and the Ford’s Colony Garden Club. Fran was a member at Iron-Bound Gym and went to the gym almost every day and sometimes twice. She was proud of the conditioning she achieved and had many friends there. She had a passion for cooking, shopping, traveling and decorating. A skilled seamstress, she proudly made her own clothes for many years. Fran cherished her relationships with family and friends and valued those bonds dearly.
Fran is survived by her loving husband, David L. Kleppinger; one sister, Janice Hagar (Edward); six stepchildren, Amy Winkler (Adam), Jason Coleman (Katy Rodney), Laura Henry (Joseph), David Kleppinger, Jr. (Lauren), Christopher Kleppinger (Brie), and Sarah Elizabeth (Mickey); two grandchildren, Finley Orlando and Abby Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Monroe, with Pastor Glynn Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Interment at Briarwood Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks donations to be made in Fran’s memory to First Baptist Church of Monroe, 139 Francis Ave, Monroe, VA 24574 or at www.fbcmonroeva.org.
Fran’s life will also be celebrated on Thursday October 16, 2025 at 11:00 am at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, Virginia officiated by Pastor Dr. Scott Salsman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks donations to be made in Fran’s memory to the James River Baptist Church kitchen fund.
