It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel William (Bill) Bruce, who left us on September 10, 2025, at the age of 86. A proud father and grandfather, and a devoted friend, he will be missed by all who knew him.
Born on January 19, 1939, Bill led a life full of passion, dedication, and adventure. He proudly served his country as a member of the 101st Airborne Division, Company B, 501st Signal Battalion, where his Senior Wings were presented to him by General William Westmoreland. His service was a testament to his courage and commitment to those around him.
Following his military service, Bill went on to enjoy careers in aviation, motorcycles, and automobiles. He worked for Piedmont Airlines as an A&P mechanic, prior to working for American Honda Motor Company as the District Service Manager first for the motorcycle division and eventually for the automotive division. He retired after 26 years with the company, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in the motorcycle and automobile communities.
Outside of his career, Bill was a passionate adventurer. In his free time, he loved to fly his planes, race catamarans, sail, and revel in the freedom of riding his motorcycles. His zest for life was contagious, and he inspired those around him to pursue their own passions with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything he did.
Bill lived life on his own terms and valued his independence. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his legacy will live on in the stories shared about his incredible life.
