Gary Jones

Gary Allen Jones, of Covington, died Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home. Gary was born January 4, 1966 in Alleghany County. He was the son of the late Kenneth Ray Jones and grandson of the late Margie Campbell Jones. Gary was employed for twenty-seven years by William A. Parks, Jr. Law Firm as an office manager.
Gary loved spending time with family. He had a love for all animals especially his beloved dogs, Lulu, Bella, any stray cat that showed up and his flock of chickens. He loved flowers and has an amazing talent for that. Gary loved to cook and try new recipes and often shared that with friends and family.
Gary will be forever remembered for his kind and loving heart. He was a true friend to so many. Gary lived his life unapologetically and authentically. His laugh brought laughter to everyone he was around.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margie Campbell Jones, father, Kenneth Ray Jones and aunt, Dreama Miller.
Gary is survived by his twin brother, Larry (Cherie); his sisters, Patty (Chuck) Lynn, Penny (Horace) Cooke; brother, Kenny (Barbara). Along with his aunt, Brenda (Benny) Cochran and cousins, Dennis and Lisa. Gary had a number of nieces and nephews: Greg, Heather, Amanda, Matt and Marshel as well as great nieces and nephews, Breya, Kalik, Deekin, Reed, Thomas, Lexi and Aiden, special friend, Debbie Persinger and family as well as a number of wonderful friends and people whose lives he touched in this community.
A memorial is not planned at this time but may be scheduled at a later date.
