Vivian Marie Marsh

December 3, 1934 - September 15, 2025

Vivian Marsh, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away on September 15, 2025 at the age of 90. She was born on December 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Bernard Clyde Jobe and Dollie Janney Jobe. She married Joseph K. Marsh on July 11, 1969 in Quincy, IL. He survives her in death.

Vivian graduated from Quincy High School and attended Gem City College. In her younger adult years, she was employed as a secretary and in retail sales at a Christian bookstore, and then as a child caregiver. The most life-changing event in Vivian’s life occurred in 1959 when she placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing the time God gave her with her family. Vivian was an active member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, as well as Calvary Baptist Church while living in Quincy. She was a member of the Roanoke City East Camp of the Gideons Auxiliary.

Vivian is survived by her husband of 56 years, J. Keith Marsh; and two daughters, Jennifer (William) Carver of Hardy, VA and Janeen (David) Plummer of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Booth, Heidi (Nick) Lechner, Heath (Quinn) Plummer, Caleb (Miranda) Rich, Nathan (Kylie LaScola) Rich, and Micah (Emily) Rich; as well as ten great grandchildren and another anticipated soon. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Connie Marsh of Quincy, IL and many dear nieces and nephews.

Preceding Vivian in death were four brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Doris) Hubbard, Bernard (Betty) Jobe Jr, Harold (Marilyn) Jobe, and Jesse (Ruth) Jobe, one sister, Maxine Spangler, two brothers-in law, Phillip Spangler and Charles Marion Marsh, and a great niece, Erin Window.

A Visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, form 5-7 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, located at 5160 Peters Creek Rd in Roanoke, VA 24019. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 11 am, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 1030 Bible Lane, Vinton, VA 24179.
