Lula Mae Earley

Lula Mae Pope Earley, 93, of Appomattox passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Harold Earley.
Born in Amelia County on May 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Omry Pope and Lucinda Loomis Pope. Lula worked at the Courtland Garment Factory, operated His and Her Hair Salon, and drove a school bus for many years.
She is survived by four children, Martin Thompson and wife, Gay, Sheila Schmidt and husband, Charles, Teresa Ramsey and husband, Stewart, and Rhonda Mayberry; 10 grandchildren, Chris Thompson and wife, Sherry, Bruce Thompson, Matt Schmidt and wife, Ashlee, Steven Schmidt and wife, Cassandra, Daniel Ramsey and wife, Anne, Kimberly Curran and husband, Theo, Carrie Ramsey, Jennifer Paluszka and husband, Dustin, Tim Mayberry and wife, Sheila, and Magan McGann and husband, Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Samuel, Bradley, Bentley, Brigley, Kandis, MacKenzie, Alex, Paisyn, Zoey, and Sadie Mae (born the same day as Mae’s passing) ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held 11am, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Childress officiating. Burial will be at 1pm in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
