Helen Joyce Ramsey Glass

Helen Joyce Ramsey Glass, 96, of Forest, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at her residence.

Born in Lynchburg on February 19, 1929, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late William Herman Ramsey and Fannie Scruggs Ramsey. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles William Glass.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her daughter Linda Glass-Liston, and her son David Glass.

She is survived by her two sons, Edwin “Ed” Glass (Brenda) and Doug Glass (Elizabeth); her daughter-in-law, Debbie Glass; along with eight grandchildren, Ramsey, Emily, Jon, Ann, David, Tim, Bill and Jessica and fifteen great-grandchildren who brought her much joy and pride.

Helen dedicated her early years to raising her family and supporting her husband in his business, Homestead Catering. Later, she pursued nursing at Lynchburg General and retired from a fulfilling career in healthcare. Known for her excellent cooking and quilting skills, Helen was an active member of the Fort Hill Women’s Club and Fort Hill United Methodist Church, where she found community and fellowship.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Laura Ballowe and Ashley Taylor, as well as the Gentle Shepherd Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
