Sherry D. Cooper

Sherry Darlene Cooper, 62, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

She was born on May 3, 1963, in Wytheville, Virginia, to the late Ralph Hagee and Evelyn Dunford Hagee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Okey Cooper and Barry Cox, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Sherry was known for her kind spirit and simple joys. She loved to color, play dice, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy her favorite wrestling matches. Her laughter, love, and presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tiffany Jamison (Harold Watkins) and Amber Eanes (Kord Kersten); grandchildren, Elizabeth Claire Rigney and Corbin Allen Eanes; stepdaughter, Annette McLeod; stepson, Noah Cooper; sisters, Ellen Trent and Ellen Pinnix; her life partner, Billy Erdly; along with many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
