Jeanne Rosemarie Nickerson

Jeanne Rosemarie (Cogswell) Nickerson, 97, of Michigan passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late George Raymond Cogswell and Sarah Eleanor Leander.

Born on May 6, 1928 Jeanne was a woman who cherished the simple joys in life. She found great fulfillment in sewing, lovingly crafting baby blankets and doll dresses that she often shared at local craft shows, always delighted by the joy her creations brought to children’s faces. A passionate gardener, Jeanne took pride in nurturing vibrant flowers and homegrown vegetables, finding peace and purpose in the rhythm of the seasons.

A devoted and loving wife, Jeanne played a supportive role in her husband’s business endeavors, working beside him with care and dedication. Above all, she was a deeply committed mother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her children. She never missed an opportunity to share her love, laughter, and presence with them, her greatest treasures.

Jeanne was a kind, nurturing, and creative soul. Her warmth touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

In addition to her parents Jeanne was preceded in passing by her beloved husband Burrell Floyd Nickerson; her sisters Anna Margaret Cogswell, Alice Lorena Ring; and her brother John Louis Cogswell.

Those left to cherish Jeanne’s memory include her children Patricia Mullett of Lynchburg, VA., Terry Nickerson of Bellevue, MI., and Kevin Nickerson and his wife Jennifer of Ann Arbor, MI.

Services for Jeanne will be announced at a later date.
