Lula J. Hall Brim

Lula J. Hall Brim, 85, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

She was born on April 1, 1940, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Oscar and Algia Martin Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, William D. Brim; her sisters, Patricia Jameson and Cornelia Ferguson; her brothers, Cleo Hall and Clay Hall; one niece, Teresa Ann Hylton, and two nephews, Ronald Hall and Mark Witt.

Lula was a devoted homemaker and babysitter, known for her love of family and community. She was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and also a proud member of the Patrick Henry Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Lula leaves behind cherished memories with her daughter, Yvonne Elgin (Bruce); her granddaughter, Amanda Elgin Hutchinson; her grandson, Chris Elgin; great-grandchildren, Adaleigh Hutchinson, Aurora Hutchinson, Jude Hutchinson, and Walker Elgin; and her sister, Liz Witt.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Patrick Springs, Virginia. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at the church, with burial immediately afterward in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church Building Fund or Patrick Henry Volunteer Fire Department.
