Joan J. Fox

Joan Jeannette Fox, 88, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 8, 1937, to the late Ezra Austin and Mary Elizabeth Pruitt Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph L. Fox; her son, Gregory Steven Fox; her sister, Louise Neal; and her brother, Dennis Adkins.

Joan was a lifelong and devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She cherished time spent with her family and had a deep love for nature, often enjoying walking and hiking. She also had a special fondness for cats.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Ramona Adkins McVay (Roger); her brother, Donald Adkins (Cindy); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (West Congregation), located at 118 Jenny Lane, Danville, Virginia 24541.

Floral arrangements may be sent to the Kingdom Hall on the day of the memorial service.
