James "Jimmy" Edwin Knight

James (Jimmy) Edwin Knight, 82, of Forest, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Born on April 9, 1943 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Elmo G. Knight, and Mary Frances Witt Knight and siblings Eleanor Pauley, Charles E. Knight (deceased), Carroll C. Knight (deceased), David A. Knight (deceased), Manus Knight, Debbie T. Rice, Jeff Knight, and Barry Knight and In addition to his parents and siblings, he is survived by his wife, Betty Knight; daughter’s, Roxanne Cobb, Mary Alice Mullen, son’s James C. Knight, James E. Knight, Jr and Johnny Hall (deceased) and step son Brian Walling and step-daughter Lisa Solik , grandchildren Jennifer Curtis, Chris Mullen, Jay Mullen, Raquel Mooney, and Jacob Knight; and 21 great grandchildren.

He dedicated more than 50 years of his life as a self-employed contractor of Knight Drywall. Helping build 100s of homes, apartments and commercial buildings in Lynchburg and surrounding counties. He loved raising koi in his fish pond, fishing and working on do it yourself projects.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
