Melvin Adams

Melvin Adams, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. Melvin was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on November 3, 1940 to the late Vivian Pruitt Adkins and the late Melvin Adams Sr. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Judith Anne “Judy” Arthur Adams.

Melvin was of the Baptist Faith. He worked for 38 years as the owner/operator of Melvin Adams Heating and Air, previous to his retirement. Melvin also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Melvin is survived by a daughter; Lori A. Clardy and husband Brian of Blairs, VA; a granddaughter; Rebecca Clardy Beaman and husband Ben; and a sister; Peggy C. Creasy of South Carolina.

In addition to his parents and wife; Melvin was predeceased by a sister: Delores C. Wilson and his stepfather; George G. Chattin.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00pm at Highland Burial Park, with Pastor Mike Lewis officiating. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lori A. Clardy.
