Robert Parrish Pace
Robert Parrish Pace Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on July 10, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Hallie Pugh Pace and the late Robert Howell Pace. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Susan Hardy Pace.
Robert was of the Baptist Faith and a active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, previous to his retirement, and recently received his 60 year veteran pin from the Postal Service. He was an avid bowler, something he enjoyed doing with his wife Susan.
In addition to his loving wife, Robert is survived by a daughter; Tamara Puckett and husband Wayne of Danville, VA; a son Robert Parrish Pace Jr. and wife Kathy of Greensboro, NC; a step daughter; Julie Merricks and husband Andy of Danville, VA; a sister; Nancy Arnn (Jim); ten grandchildren; Danielle Mullis (Todd), Alexis Giles (Alex), Jordan Burnette (Josh), Bailee Puckett (Josh), Tyler Merricks, Tanner Merricks, Casey, Tristan, Abby, and Cole Scarce; six great grandchildren; Layton, Callie, Jordan, Caroline, Colton, and Hadley; and brother in law; Vic Hardy and his wife Nell.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by three sisters; Dorothy Page, Elsie Pruitt, and Margie Shorter.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to their special neighbors; The Woodsons, Larry Mills, and Linda Holley.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Good News Sunday School Class at 4385 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 2:00pm at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA with Pastor Ryan Riley officiating. The family will receive friends at family at the residence on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 12:00-5:00pm.
