Carol Dean Jones
Carol D. Jones, 86, of Pamplin, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was married to James R. White, Sr., for nearly 26 years. After Jim’s death, she married Rev. Thomas D. Jones of Pamplin with whom she shared over 39 years. Jim was her first love. Tom was the love of her life.
Born in Roanoke, VA on June 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lila Keffer Koerner and Thomas Allen “T.A.” Koerner.
Carol was an active member of Rocks Baptist Church for most of her life and sharing Tom’s ministry gave her special joy. She was very blessed by starting a senior adult ministry, The Rolling Rocks, at her church and leading it for many years.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by her children, James R. “Jim” White, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Lexington, Michael T. White and wife, Catherine of Madison Heights, and Christina Farris of Vinton; special granddaughter, Michaela R. White, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Frederick “T.F.” Koerner and wife, Marie of Woodbridge and Susan Cook and husband, Michael of Forest; special cousin, Patricia Frink; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other friends and relatives will mourn her death.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 24, 2025, at Rocks Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Doug Lee.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rocks Baptist Church.
