Linda Darsal Proffitt

Linda Darsal Proffitt, age 73, of Salem, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Proffitt; brother, Thomas Proffitt; and her sister, Regina Huffman.

Linda is survived by her mother, Millie Proffitt; daughter, Michelle Lemon and her husband, Adam; brother, Steve Proffitt; granddaughter, Makayla Fox and her husband, Cole; grandson, Seth Lemon; great-grandson, Lincoln Fox; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born on June 22, 1952, in Tazewell, Virginia, Linda lived a life filled with compassion, creativity, and love for those around her. She had many passions, especially her fondness for animal prints and her love of westerns on television. She adored safari animals and could never resist a trip to the beach or pool.

Linda also loved to read and to listen to music, finding peace and joy in simple pleasures. Throughout her life, she worked in many fields, each one centered on her deep desire to help others. Her kind heart, humor, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors for their exceptional care and support during Linda’s final days.

Family members and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel located at 305 Roanoke Boulevard in Salem, Virginia 24153. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, also in the chapel, with Pastor Tom Crise and Mr. Ronnie Proffitt officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
