Raymond "Preston" Faidley

Raymond “Preston” Faidley, Sr., age 81, of 23422 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia died on Monday, October 20, 2025 at his residence.
Preston was born on January 29, 1949 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Alvin Easter Faidley, Sr. and Virginia He graduated from the police academy in 1980 and was well known in the Highlands community, retiring after working for many years for the police departments of Iron Gate, Clifton Forge, and Covington.
In addition to his parents, Preston was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Easter Faidley, Jr. and Bobby Faidley and a special canine friend, Piper.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Loretta Reid Faidley of Iron Gate; his dog, Bella; four daughters, Dawn Renay Wright (Alan) of Eagle Rock, Andrea Brown (Dale) of Clifton Forge, Angelia Deisher Travis of Clifton Forge, and Kelly Jean Reynolds (Aaron) of Morris Hill; a son, Raymond Preston Faidley, Jr. of Iron Gate; a number of grandchildren; his nieces and nephew, Lisa, John, Anne, and Jeanie; and special family, Angel and Donnie Carroll.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Iron Gate Fire and Rescue, 300 Third Street, Iron Gate, VA 24448, or to the American Cancer Society.
