Robert Wayne Williams
Robert Wayne (Bob) Williams passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
There to welcome him home were his parents, Montry and Woodrow Syres, as well as his brothers Cecil, Jimmy, and Ed, and his sister Joy.
Carrying his memory and legacy forward are his loving wife, Rosemary; his son, Justin; daughter-in-law, Emily; and his grandson, Waylon.
Cherishing the life they shared are his sisters Carol Barton (Ronnie), Teresa Jennings (Frankie), and his baby sister, Vickie Fife. He was also proud of his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Bob never met a stranger and enjoyed the friendship of many. His greatest joy, aside from his family, was a good day’s work. He began his career as a journeyman plumber and pipefitter before moving into the building trades, where he served as a project manager on large construction projects.
As a master builder, he constructed many homes throughout the New River Valley and Smith Mountain Lake. Bob also shared his knowledge with others by teaching welding at both the high school and college levels.
He took great pride in farming and land development and found joy in creating and improving the places he called home.
Bob was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He was a proud member of Eggleston Masonic Lodge No. 309 and a former member of the Giles County Board of Supervisors. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the Williams family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Williams family.
He was a man of many talents and natural skills, which he shared freely. Bob left a lasting footprint on the lives of those who knew him and will be deeply missed.
In keeping with his wishes, Bob will be cremated, and a Masonic graveside service will be held at a later date. The family thanks everyone for their kindness, prayers, and support during this time.
