Ida Catherine Hackett Bryant

Ida Hackett Bryant, age 91, was called to her heavenly reward on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born in Buckingham County, VA, on March 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Vera Hackett and the late Hampton Hackett. Ida was a pastor’s wife who served alongside her husband, Reverend Oscar Bryant, in pastoral ministry spanning thirty-seven years. She loved to sing, cook, and welcome others into her home.
Ida is survived by her daughters, Rita Bryant Terry of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Janice Bryant Lobb of Phoenix, Arizona; and her son, Reverend Garry Edward Bryant and wife, LaDawn Bryant of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her legacy is also carried on by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her sister, Judy Hackett Rosser of York, South Carolina.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Oscar Bryant of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her father Hampton Hackett of Richmond, Virginia; mother, Vera Hackett of Wingina, Virginia; four brothers, David Hackett of Wingina, Virginia, Hampton Hackett, Jr. of Dillwyn, Virginia, Pete Hackett of Richmond, Virginia, Donnie Hackett of Shipman, Virginia; and three sisters, Dolly Ragland of Wingina, Virginia, Nannie Balloue of Shipman, Virginia, and Laura Bowman of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
A private memorial service will be held at Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wingina, Virginia. Reverend Garry Bryant of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will officiate the service with assistance of Reverend Bill Terry from Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Ida Bryant will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Her life and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew and were touched by her life.
