Those who knew Ed will remember him as a man of integrity, humor, and quiet strength — a mentor, protector, and hero to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He taught by example: that leadership comes from humility, that kindness is strength, and that life’s greatest purpose was his family.

A proud United States Army veteran, Ed carried the values of duty, loyalty, and honor into every chapter of his life. After serving his country, he continued to give back to his community — serving as a Police Commissioner, Mayor, and later working in Public Works in Eatontown, New Jersey.

It was during his years in Public Works that Ed found some of his greatest satisfaction, especially when he was plowing snow. He loved the quiet solitude of those early morning hours, keeping the roads clear and safe for others — a simple, selfless task that perfectly captured who he was. Ed believed deeply that every act of service, no matter how small, made a difference. To him, there was no such thing as unimportant work when it helped others.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Edith Nadeau, and their children: Dawn (Derrick), Marc (Liz), and Joey (Veronica); Sonya (Alisha) and DJ (Amy) grandson Anthony. He also leaves behind grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were made better by his presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund Bruce Nadeau Sr. and Nugenta Geroni Nadeau, and by his sister, Loretta (Ed) Stominski

To know Ed was to know a rare kind of man — one who served with pride, loved without condition, and led without ever asking for recognition. His spirit lives on in every person who continues to serve, to laugh, and to love the way he did.

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate his life, with arrangements by Moody Funeral Services in Stuart, Virginia.
