Myrtle Adcock Terry
Myrtle Terry, 80, of Evington, gained her angel wings as she entered into the gates of heaven where she rests in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mollie Adcock. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Robert “Bobby” Terry; sister Minnie Pearl Myers; and brothers Roosevelt “Bob”, Donnie and Dallas Adcock.
Myrtle is survived by her son Robert Darnell Terry; daughters Lisa Poe (Clarence), Penny Terry (Twyman), and Sandra Terry (Paul); along with her grandchildren: Rodney (Ally), Heather (DJ), Brittany (Eric), Kevin (Anna), Erica, and Isaiah; as well as eight great-grandchildren: Hunter, Emily, Faith, Emberlynn, Levi, Lawson, Shane and Millie; three sisters: Cindy, Susan and Lorraine; five brothers: Jimmy Wayne (Joann), Jack (Debbie), Carlton, Dale and Ronnie.
Myrtle retired from Central Virginia Training Center after 37 years of dedication. She was an avid member of the Monacan Indian Nation where she enjoyed events to celebrate her heritage and embrace the future of her tribe.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her spunk, her love, her hugs, and always hearing her say “I love you, come back and see me.”
Myrtle was loved deeply by her family and best friends; Jean Johns, Roy Staton and Beth Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel officiated by Pastor Sam Smith. Interment will immediately follow the service at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. – 8 :00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
