Tyler Coleman
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Tyler Alexander Coleman, 6, of Christiansburg, who went home to Jesus on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Tyler was born on June 3, 2019, and was a light to those around him. Though he was small, his spirit was immense. His many nicknames include, “Ty Ty”, “Little Bird”, “the game meister”, “Buddy the Elf”, “Pepe” and “Stinky”. He loved playing any kind of game, especially board games; building gingerbread houses for every holiday; playing action figures and PlayDoh; and light-heartedly keeping his family on a strict routine. Tyler spent his days playing and doing crafts with his “Gigi”, with whom he shared a special bond; eating donuts; and loving on his brother. He was a homebound student at Falling Branch Elementary School.
Tyler is preceded in death by his brother, Parker; his grandmother, Barbara Coleman of Danville; and great-grandparents, Gene and Joyce French of Roanoke, Cecil and Mary Harris of Danville, and Bill and Elsie Coleman of Ringgold.
Remaining to cherish Tyler’s memory are his parents, Bryan and Sarah Coleman of Christiansburg; his loving big brother, Zachary; grandparents, A.K. and Kim Briele of Salem, and Don Coleman of Danville; aunts, Amy Fender and husband, Jimmy of Salem and Leslie Lovelace and husband, Lee of Danville; cousins, Luke and Lucy Lovelace; and great-grandparents, Kern and Judy Briele of Salisbury, Md. Tyler is also survived by a loving and close-knit extended family.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
