Marie Abshire

Marie Saul Abshire, 100 years old, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at The Lodge at Old Trail in Crozet, VA. She was a member of the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, where she served as Deacon for many years and was also a member of the Ladies’ Quilting Group. Mrs. Abshire was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Berta Saul, her husband of 50 years, Paul Harold Abshire, her son, David Paul Abshire, four siblings, and one son-in-law, Francesco Caltieri. Surviving are her two daughters and one son-in-law, Phyllis and Gary Fagan, Crozet, VA and Lois Caltieri, Ohio; three grandchildren and spouses, Emily (Chris) Reedy, Amanda (Bryan) Wilson, and Lindsay (Chris) Winston; seven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jackie Abshire, along with several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert A. Miller officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her celebration of life. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Boones Mill, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, 25366 Virgil H. Goode Highway, Boones Mill, VA 24065.
