Betty June Thomas Morris

Betty June Morris, 89, of Martinsville, Va. passed on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was born in Patrick County, Va. September 23, 1936, to Posey Lester Thomas and Mary Rotenberry Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Hooker.

She is survived by her sons, David Morris (Lydia) and Kenneth Morris (April); daughter Denise Moore; grandchildren, Jessica Howard, Jordan Morris, Katie Morris, Meredith Griffith, Nicole Chapman, and Kelly Morris; 6 great grandchildren; and her brothers, Ray Thomas, Roy Lee Thomas and Robert “Bobby” Thomas.

Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, growing flowers and quilting. She also loved animals. Earlier in life Betty and her husband started J & J Perennials, growing and selling, daylilies and hostas. She was proud to have served on the Patrick County school board from 1981to 1984.

The family will have a private celebration of her life service in the future.
