Mildred Garman Giles, 97, of Salem passed away on November 3, 2025.

A native of Virginia she was the wife of the late Ralph “Bunny” Giles and the daughter of John Garman and Minnie Ratliff Garman, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sanford Giles; daughter, Brenda Neal; and three sisters, Tidy, Frankie, and Evelyn.

Mildred was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church for 60 years. She was an accountant and bookkeeper for a small company in the 1940’s but when she had children became a home caretaker. She loved to crochet and made many quilts that she gave to many people without charging them a dime. Mildred faithfully read her bible every day. She loved working in the yard outside, including doing a garden or just flowers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her grandson, Scott Giles and his wife Kara; and very special granddaughter, Gia.
