Ethel Collins Brannock
Mrs. Ethel Collins Brannock, age 95 of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at GrayBrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Trinity, North Carolina. Mrs. Brannock was born January 26, 1930, in Surry County to the late J. Van and Edith Parries Collins. Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. In her final days, she loved singing “Everything is Going to be Alright” giving hope, joy, and love for all to hear about her loving Savior waiting for her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughter, Sandy Brannock Rose; son and daughter-in-law, Marty Richard Brannock and Donna Lee; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jake Rose, Angela Brannock Taylor and Josh, Candice Brannock Kerley and John; eight great-grandchildren, three sisters, Judy Collins Barton and Leighton, Brenda Collins, Marie Collins Westmoreland; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brannock was preceded in the death by her husband of 56 years, Richard William “Buck” Brannock; son-in-law, Russell Max Rose; grandson, Josh Rose; sister, Shirley Collins Warren; and two brothers, Leroy Collins, and Thomas Wade Collins. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of GrayBreir Nursing and Rehabilitation and Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving and care giving to Mrs. Brannock during her brief illness. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy with Doctor Reverend David Sparks officiating. No formal visitation will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers and food, memorial donations may be made to Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, 120 Pentecostal Holiness Church Road, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
