Dreama Booth Williams
Dreama Jeanette Booth Williams, 76, of Pembroke, VA, received her heavenly reward on Friday, November 7, 2025, embraced by her Savior in the comfort of her cherished home.
Born on March 21, 1949, in Bluefield, WV, Dreama was the beloved daughter ofKenneth and Thelma Booth. She became a proud big sister when her brother Kennywas born. She was a cheerleader at Giles High School from which she graduated in1967. It was there she met the love of her life—Curtis Dale Williams—whom she fondlycalled “the cutest thing she’d ever seen.” They were married in 1970 at the Church ofGod, where she was raised in faith.
They resided in Pearisburg where they worked together to establish Giles Carpet Saleswhile Curtis worked at Celanese and Dreama worked at Virginia Tech. In 1971, theymoved to Pembroke and made their home in Mays Hollow. Their greatest blessingscame with the birth of their daughter, Emily Alice, in 1974, and their son, Benton Dale, in1976.
Throughout her life, Dreama balanced work and family with passion and joy. She servedas a clerk at the Giles County Health Department and later became the heart of thefamily business, managing Giles Carpet Sales full-time. Many who visited the shopfound not just flooring but also friendship, laughter, and a listening ear as they sharedconversations with Dreama.A devoted member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church, Dreama sang joyfully inthe choir, taught the nursery (where she lovingly cared for her grandchildren), ledvibrant Vacation Bible Schools, and served faithfully as a United Methodist Woman. Shealso helped launch the Pembroke Craft Fair through her work with the PembrokeMontage Association. She and Curtis closed Giles Carpet Sales when they retired afteralmost 50 years in 2019. They settled in their home on Sinking Creek. Her final churchfamily was those of Calvary Christian Church.
Dreama found joy in life’s simple pleasures: sipping coffee with loved ones, stitching beautiful cross-stitch creations, and spending time at Nags Head, NC. She could be found on a 4-wheeler in the mountains at Little Meadows or sitting on the front porch of her camper on the banks of the New River. Family reunions were sacred to her where she could love on those that meant so much to her, as were her birthday trips to theMaple Festival. Each morning began with Bible study and devotions, phones calls tomany which were often followed by sending memes and reels to her children andgrandchildren. She cherished lunch out with her best friends, Sunday drives andevening dinners with her beloved Curtis, episodes of Gunsmoke, and the pages of agood book or crosswords.
Dreama was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Thelma Booth ofPearisburg, and her niece, Christy Burton. She is survived by her devoted husband of55 years, Curtis; her devoted daughter Emily and son-in-law Lee, along withgrandchildren Grant and Grace of Blacksburg, VA; her loving son Ben and daughter-in-law Kourtney, and grandchildren Anna Kate and Jack of Ripplemead, VA. She was lovingly called Mawmaw by her precious grandchildren who all adored herdeeply, a title she wore with pride and joy.
