Anthony Henri Joseph Fesperman

Anthony “Tony” Fesperman Sr., 82, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Loretta Fesperman; brother, Bruce Fesperman; and sister, Betty Clatterbuck.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Louella Fesperman; children, Jean Poff (M.C.), Tonia Ostendorf (Randy), and Tony Fesperman (Jackie); grandchildren, Amy Fields (Hubie), Jessica Nichols, Ashlie Eanes (Matt), Margaret Hatchett (Waylon), Joseph Ostendorf (Lori), Jossie Campbell, Arieanna Campbell, Ayden Fesperman, and Keelyn Fesperman; great grandchildren, Gracie, Gage, Sylar, Bella, Levon, Gram, Henry, and Wrenlee; brothers, John Fesperman (Shelby) and Brian Fesperman (Becky); sister, Katherine Knapp (Frank); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was veteran of the United States Army and worked as a Project Superintendent in Construction. He was known for his strong work ethic. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was always a great mentor and always doing for others. He would help anyone in need. He was stearn, loving, and understanding at the same time. He will be greatly missed!

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from Lewis Gale Medical Center for their excellent care through the weeks of his stay.

The family will have a Visitation on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:15pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
