Douglas Paxton

Mr. Douglas Warren Paxton, age 73, of Salem, died Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the VA Medical Center-Salem.
Mr. Paxton was born November 29, 1951 in Fort Bragg, NC, the son of the late Frank Allen Paxton and Dorothy Webb Paxton. Doug served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Mr. Paxton was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, Doug enjoyed playing bingo and checkers, loved motorcycles and listening to music.
Mr. Paxton is survived by a sister, Linda Penzenstadler (Jerry) of North Chesterfield; a brother, Kenneth Paxton (Debora) of Navarre, FL; two sons, Michael Paxton of Charlotte and John Paxton (Julie) of Salem; a daughter, Chastity Paxton of Roanoke; two nieces, Noelle Saraceni, Jessica Freeman (Robert); nephew, Christopher Saraceni (Stephanie); two grandchildren, Riley Paxton and Kalin Paxton; and extended family, Melissa Reyes.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating, assisted by Chaplin Charles Spencer. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
