Shirley Wallace Catterton

Shirley Wallace Catterton, age 89 of Danville, Virginia entered into her heavenly home on Monday, November 10, 2025 at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia. Mrs. Catterton was born September 7, 1936 to the late Martha Mae Shotwell and the late Jesse Vaughan. She was married to the late Walter Guy Catterton.

She worked for Dan River Mills for 30 years before her retirement. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joan Dougherty (Donnie), Elizabeth Evans (Allan), Janet Osborne, Richard Catterton (Joy), Judy Pendry (Jim), and Joyce Slaughter (Brian), sixteen grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her two beloved sons, Walter Michael Catterton and Thomas Gene Catterton; and her son-in-law, Paul Osborne.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Burial Park, Chatham, Virginia
