Evelyn Bryant Hudson

Evelyn Bryant Hudson, 87, of Amherst County, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at her residence.

She was the loving wife of Preston Arnold Hudson for 63 years. Born April 11, 1938, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd T. and Katherine J. Bryant. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Preston, and sister, Melver Cash.

Evelyn was a retired school bus transportation aide for Amherst County Public Schools and an elder at Coolwell Presbyterian Church.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Patsy M. Parrish and husband Kelly of Madison Heights and Linda Pugh of Amherst; two sisters, Doris Rutledge and Kathy Staton (Bernard); four grandchildren, Megan Davis and husband JD, Thomas Blount, Jessica Sprouse and husband Matt, Samantha Doss and husband Justin; seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Peyton, Brayden, Hailey, Parker, Aria and Kyzer.

A funeral service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Whitten Monelison Chapel officiated by Pastor Marvin Busie and assisted by Pastor Owen Lane. Interment will follow the service at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
