Arlene “Granny Girl” Carter Hartberger
Arlene Hartberger, our beloved “Granny Girl”, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was the last surviving child of Andrew and Emma Carter. She retired from Medeco Security Lock & Key in 1995. In her retirement years, she enjoyed family trips to Myrtle Beach, camping trips and family gatherings.
She was a faithful member of Ridgewood Baptist Church and she loved her church family. She had a strong Christian faith and was a role model for her family,
Arlene is survived by her sons David Hartberger (Kelly), Dale Hartberger (Donna), and daughters Donna Rucker (R. G.), and Debbie Carter (Mike). She leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Our Lady of the Valley and Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to our Mom.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home Salem. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11 a.m., at Lotz Salem Chapel with Reverend Roy Kanode officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens
