Janet Sue Tenney Broschart

Janet Sue Tenney Broschart, 76 of Adolf - Mill Creek, WV passed away November 13, 2025 in Oakwood Health & Rehab Center.  

Janet Sue Tenney was born on September 23, 1949, at Huff in Mill Creek, WV, to Thomas S. Tenney and Violet E. Tenney Daniels, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Nancey Tenney, and Barber and Cora Daniels; her siblings Thomas Jr. Tenney, James Tenney, Jerry Tenney, and Judith Phillips; her prior son-in-law, Jay Dee Welch; and her beloved companion, Harold Jones.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Susan L. Schoonover, and husband, Charlie Schoonover, of Gap Mills, WV; and by her prior son-in-law, Tom E. Bogan Sr., of Franklin, WV. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Toni M. Randozzo and husband Anthony of Staunton, VA; Travis L. Bogan and wife Brittany of Sugar Grove, WV; and Tom E. Bogan Jr. of Franklin, WV. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Amaryllis, Deacon, Gabriella, and Liam. Janet is further survived by her siblings: brother William Tenney and wife Linda of Upshur County, WV; sister Dorothy Harlan and husband William of Randolph County, WV; and sister Pamala Brown of Randolph County, WV.

Janet dedicated more than 20 years of her life to caring for others through her work as a housekeeper at Snowshoe Mountain Resort and Silver Creek Lodge in Snowshoe, WV, as well as 12 years at Thompson’s Motel in Franklin, WV. She also lovingly provided care for the elderly and found joy in sharing her passion for horses by giving riding lessons to children.

Janet had a deep love for the outdoors. She enjoyed horseback riding, attending horse sales, gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending time hunting and fishing, especially with her grandchildren. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially her beloved dogs and cats. Above all, she cherished her child, grandchildren, and her family.

She was first married to her prior husband William Williams (living), and later to her most recent husband John Broschart (deceased).

Honoring her wishes, Janet will be cremated. Her ashes will be laid to rest at a later date during a celebration of life with her closest family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mill Creek Cemetery in honor of her parents, or to the Cancer or Heart Foundation of your choice.
