Alain Joseph Deacon

Alain Joseph Deacon, of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 64 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Alain developed a lifelong love of skating and hockey. He was a loving father, devoted husband, cherished sibling, and proud grandfather, remembered for his talent, creativity, and the joy he brought to those around him.Alain was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 40 years, Sallie Deacon, and a proud father to his children, Brian Deacon and wife Amy, and Hallée Mercogliano and husband D; He cherished his grandchildren, Connor, Rocco, and Zoë. Alain is survived by his mother, Réjeanné Hallée; siblings, Daniel, Johanne, and Mike and wife Vickie; his sisters-in-law, Ellen Johnson and husband Carl, and Ginny Curd and husband Tom; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends; and his beloved dog, Dakota. He was preceded in death by his father, Frédéric Deacon; and his sister, Linda Deacon.A gifted carpenter, Alain took pride in building his home in Rocky Mount. He loved working on old cars, creating and building projects, and spending time by the river. Music, fishing, and moments with family - and Dakota by his side were among the joys that filled his life.A private memorial service will be held with family. The family expresses deep gratitude to Carilion Hospice and Blue Ridge Cancer Care for their compassionate support during his final days.He will be remembered for his skill, generosity, and the love he gave to his family and friends.Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
