Susan Marie Donithan
Susan Marie Donithan, lovingly known as Susie by many, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Salem, Virginia. Born in Pulaski, Virginia, on February 20, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Draper Donithan Sr. and Betty Jean Cole Donithan.
Susan is survived by her brother, Douglas Draper Donithan, Jr., and sister, Nancy Jackson; her son, Chris Donithan, and his wife, Tonya Donithan; five grandchildren—Andrew Bridges, Levi Donithan, Savana Donithan, Lyric Harper, and Katie Donithan; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Morton and Easton Morton.
Throughout her life, Susan worked at Jefferson Mills, AT&T, New River Casting Company, Shoney’s, and later Main Street Café. When she began working as a waitress, she treated every customer like family, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Susan loved traveling to Atlantic City and Cherokee to play the slot machines, watching NASCAR on Sundays, and celebrating Christmas surrounded by family. Her greatest joy was spending time with loved ones and cherishing surprise visits from family.
