Michael "Mickey" Lewis Mayberry
Michael (Mickey) Lewis Mayberry, 83, of Concord, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at his residence. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Brooks Mayberry, and two loving children, Lisa Mayberry and Michael (Mike) Mayberry, II (Heather), both of Concord.
In addition to his parents, Mickey is preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Janet Barricks, and a brother, David Mayberry.
Mickey was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 19, 1942, son of Rufus and Mary Mayberry. He was a hardworking, successful businessman, launching and operating multiple thriving establishments over the years, including Sanitary Market and Mayberry’s Produce. While he had an affinity for commerce, his ultimate passion was his family. Mickey treasured time with his family, with traditions such as Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas breakfast among his favorites.
In addition to his wife and children, Mickey is survived by six grandchildren, Taylor, Chase (Elizabeth), Mary (Tyler), and Dawn (Dustin), Brooks, and Dalton, whom he loved very much; seven great grandchildren, whom he was very proud of, Ashlynn, Ziyan, Scarlett, Lee, Miles, Grant, and Willow; a cherished sister, Bunnie; a treasured son-in-law, Red, and a multitude of extended family and friends.
Later in life, Mickey was blessed to have wonderful caregivers. Special thanks are extended to his daughter, Lisa, who provided constant, steadfast support to her dad, as well as Sheila Irving, Angel Cunningham, and Jeannie Shelton.
A celebration of life will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
