Ruth Elois Hundley

Ruth Elois Hundley, 83, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1942, in Ridgeway, Virginia, to the late Joseph Hodges and Nannie Eggleston Hodges. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, John E. Hundley and by siblings, Bessie Acree, Jeanette Newman, C. Raymond Hodges, Josephine Anthony, Betty Roark, Sally Gamber, Norma Jean Gibbs, and C. Willie Hodges.

Ruth and her late husband owned and operated Southeastern Outdoor Supplies. She was a member of and faithfully attended Trinity Baptist Church, in Martinsville, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Edwin Hundley (Tawni) and Jonathan Hundley (Kara); daughter, Donna Hundley; sisters, Margaret Moore and Daisy Gibbs; brother, Bobby Hodges; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2370 Snow Creek Road, Martinsville, VA 24112, in Ruth’s honor.
