Vickie Lee Wright

September 16, 1958 - December 6, 2025

Vickie Lee Wright, 67, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lynchburg on September 16, 1958, Vickie was the daughter of the late Charles L. Harlow and Betty Wright Martin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Goodbar, and two grandchildren, Fatima and baby Dory.

Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, James Wright; her five children, Tina Stanley, Robert Stanley (Nina), Duane Stanley (Amber), Jessica Wright, and Brandi Wright; nine cherished grandchildren, Dondre, Raziah, Rayna, Reagan, Zack, Abbigail, Jayden, Ryley and Arianna; three sisters, Arnetha Long (Paul), Laura H. Justice (Daniel), and Lisa Henson; two brothers, Tony Martin and Tony Harlow; her aunt, Patricia Elder; and many other dear extended family members and friends.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Vickie worked tirelessly throughout her life to care for those she loved. She was an accomplished seamstress whose hands were rarely still—mending, sewing, and creating with a quiet pride. She also enjoyed the fun and fellowship of bingo, a pastime that brought her laughter and companionship.

Christmas held a special place in Vickie’s heart. It was, without question, her favorite time of year. She delighted in Christmas music, the warmth of holiday traditions, and especially in her extraordinary collection of snowmen—each one treasured, each one a reminder of her joyful spirit. Her home at Christmas time was a reflection of her: full of light and love.

The family will receive friends and celebrate Vickie’s life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you please consider their needs during this difficult time.

Vickie will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the way she made every Christmas—every moment—just a little brighter.
