Fred Lance Harris

Fred Lance Harris, 81, of Ridgeway, VA passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born on June 20, 1944, in Henry County, VA to the late James William Harris and Betty Lou Hopkins Harris. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Grady Harris, Clyde-Maynard Harris, and Billy Thomas Harris; sisters, Sadie Duncan, Ethel Jefferson, Christine Spizer, Dorothy Harris, and Shirley Loraine Harris.

Fred had a deep love for music and found joy in playing his guitar and singing. A talented mechanic, he also took great pride in working on fixer-upper homes and crafting furniture. His hands were always busy creating, repairing, and bringing new life to the things he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Harris; daughters, Cindy Harris Turbeville and Sherel Lawson; stepdaughters, Shelia Pless (Michael), and Tonya Barrow; stepson, Michael Barrow (Angie); and his sister, Carolyn Adkins. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lance Turbeville, Colby Lawson, Christian Christmas, Diana Pace (Adam), Dustin Pless (Kelsey), Kristen Norris (Harrison), and Justin Gunter (Emily); great-grandchildren, Rhilei, Cooper, Carson, Mavis, DJ, and Nora.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Norris Funeral Services. Graveside service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Beckham United Methodist Church Cemetery in Axton, VA with Pastor Robert Hardy officiating.
